My comedy students in Sonoma County have asked for information
on performing opportunities within a two-hours drive; i. e., four-hour roundtrip.

I keep bumping into events previously unknown to me.

Let's benefit the most local comedy folks living in
Sacramento, Mendocino, Lake County, Napa, Marin County,
San Francisco, Oakland and the East Bay, San Jose and Santa Cruz.
How?
By expanding the list to these kind of amateur comedy events
within two-hours drive of where you live.

If comedy folks in other parts of the USA and the rest of the world
want to put up such information on the web,
please send us your links.
Why?
So, "visiting firemen" comics can get on stage at your local venues
and network with you, etc, etc.

Disclaimer:
I think that I have seen fragmented local lists that might not be current nor complete.
Some of these lists do not even distinguish between amateur events and professional shows!

So, I will start with what I stumbled across in the past few days
while looking for entirely different information.

Now, I am inviting the readership of this web site to help out.
You need to know the name of the club, address and phone number.
Be sure to include the zip code for google maps.
Include the club's web site address.
Plus, the event's date, day of week, sign-up time vs. showtime, etc.

Tip:
Do not depend on the person answering the phone.
Just ask who is actually running the show,
often a local comic:
name, phone number and email address.

Call and get updated information before you jump in your car.
"Hi. I've played at ___,____ and ____.
Do you still have an open mic on ___? What time are the shows?
When do I sign up to perform?"

Nothing like a four-hour roundtrip on the wrong day or
showing up late, and not getting on.

The contest is monthly on Wednesdays, September 18, October 16, November 20 and December 18, 2019,
with eight contestants from those four dates
competing in the Finals on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 for $500.
